Your mom was wrong the whole time!

Some common misconceptions, and why they aren't true!

Hey 👋 TooCool Crew,

As always Happy Monday!

Are you ready to crush some myths about cold exposure?

Myth 4 we’ll bet you’ve heard your mom say more than 100 times.

So let’s dive right in! (and the puns keep coming)

Myth 1 🤪

Cold exposure is only for extreme athletes, crazy people and those being interviewed by Kevin Hart on “Cold as Balls”.

Crushed!

Cold exposure is for anyone. Whether you're a pro athlete or a couch potato.

The benefits never discriminate!

Even a quick cold shower can help to reduce inflammation, boost circulation, and increase mental clarity.

Myth 2 🥶

Cold exposure is too uncomfortable and unpleasant to be worth it.

Crushed!

Sure, cold exposure is uncomfortable even for seasoned pros but this is actually part of its charm.

By intentionally subjecting yourself to a stressful situation, you're actually training your brain to control your automatic responses to stress. This process involves an area of your brain called the prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for planning and controlling your impulses.

When you have control over your stress response, you become more resilient and better able to handle stressful situations in everyday life.

Here are some other key benefits which make the plunge worth the squeeze. (🤔 hmmm, that sounded better in my head)

Myth 3 🚫

Cold exposure will lead to hypothermia.

Crushed!

While it's true that exposure to extremely cold temperatures for prolonged periods of time can lead to hypothermia, practicing cold exposure in a controlled manner is generally safe for most people.

Uncomfortable sure, but safe!

Remember 👉 Always start slowly and listen to your body. If you experience any health concerns, stop immediately and consult a medical professional.

Myth 4 🤒

Cold exposure will make you sick!

Crushed!

While mothers around the world have worried for centuries that cold exposure causes you to get sick, the evidence shows that it actually has the opposite effect.

Sorry MOM! 🫡

Exposure to cold temperatures stimulates the production of white blood cells and increase the body's ability to fight off infections.

Remember 👉 If you are already feeling under the weather it is advised not to expose yourself to the cold. (We’ll let you have this one mom 💝)

Myth 5 👋

Cold exposure is just a trend that will eventually fade away.

Crushed!

While cold exposure has certainly gained popularity on TikTok, it's based on centuries-old practices and traditions.

Because cold exposure is a natural and accessible way to improve health and well-being, we’re willing to take a hefty bet 💰 that it’s here to stay!

So, there you have it - a few myths crushed!

Don't let fear or misconceptions hold you back - embrace the chill!

Remember... Cold exposure is like working out at the gym. You wouldn't dare bench press 300lb on your first day.

So if you're new please take it slow, and listen to your body.

Stay cool, TooCool
